How to easily manage your results

Jimmy McLellan, Customer Success Specialist

Managing results can be overwhelming these days. Whether you have 20 a week, or 2000 a week, it is a daunting task for anyone to locate all those results and accept them. Well not any more! To make it easy CricHQ has developed some handy tools to help you automate the process, giving you the ability to track your key results, manage required changes, and let your community take care of the rest.

What you need

To manage pending results your will need access to CricHQ's Cricket Administration platform. This means you will be an administrator for one or more competitions on CricHQ. Once you have this access you can take full advantage of our Fixture Management tools. If you don't currently have access, find out more here: Click to learn about Cricket Administration with CricHQ

Managing results on CricHQ

Managing a pending result is an important part of CricHQ's fixture management tools. Upon a pending result being accepted the following occurs:

  • CricHQ verifies this as an official result
  • Player profile statistics are updated
  • Club and competition leaderboards are updated
  • Standings tables update with the latest results

This makes it a critical point for administrators to understand. So let us take you through the basics of managing results.

1. How to manage a single pending result

Navigate to Admin > Organisations > select your organisation > Competitions > select your competition > Draws.

Select the draw you want to manage a result in. In here you will see the word 'Waiting' on fixtures has changed to 'Pending' if it has a pending result to accept.

Click the drop down on the fixture and select "Add Result", now the Add/Edit Result dialog will appear. In here any scorecards submitted to the fixture will be displayed. Using the drop downs on the scorecards you can view the scorecards and decide which is the official result. Once you are sure, use the dropdown and click "Accept as Official Result".

Once done click 'Update Result' and you are done. The standings table, player statistics, and competition leaderboards will now all begin to update.

2. How to manage all pending results for a draw

Just like above, navigate to Admin > Organisations > select your organisation > Competitions > select your competition > Draws.

Select the draw you want to manage a result in. In here you will see the word 'Waiting' on fixtures has changed to 'Pending' if it has a pending result to accept.

Now instead of clicking on a particular fixture, select the main drop down underneath 'Fixtures'. Click "Accept Pending Results" and the Add/Edit Result dialog will appear. This time though the main button will say "Next Result". Using the drop down option on a scorecard, select the scorecard for the fixture you are on, and click "Accept as Official Result". Then click "Next Result".

The dialog will now refresh and display the next pending result for you to review and accept. Repeat this process and once you have accepted all of the pending results the dialog will disappear. This makes for a much quicker process of getting every result accepted.

3. How to automatically accept pending results

If your trust your clubs and teams, you simply allow them to submit a result and automatically accept it as soon as it is submitted. This is commonly used for:

  • Junior grades
  • Lower senior levels
  • Tournaments with official scorers
  • Clubs and teams that have given official admin access to score

The feature can be used for any competition you like though. So if you trust those with administration and scoring access to submit the correct results - switch it on now and never have to accept another result again!

Navigate to Admin > Organisations > select your organisation > Competitions > select your comeptition you want to automatically accept results for.

Select the dropdown in the top-right hand corner and click "Edit Details". In here ensure the tick box under  'Automatic Result Acceptance' is selected and click "Update".

All done, now anytime a scorecard is submitted to a fixture, either manually or scored via the CricHQ app, it will be automatically accepted. This will update all of your statistics and standings. If any changes need to be made after a result has been accepted, check out the next section on how to make these updates.

4. How to edit and update incorrect results

Navigate to Admin > Organisations > select your organisation > Competitions > select your competition > Draws.

Select the draw you want to edit or update an incorrect result in. In here you will see the word 'Accepted' on fixtures with results.

Click the drop down on the fixture you want to edit and select "Edit Result", now the Add/Edit Result dialog will appear. In here any scorecards submitted to the fixture will be displayed. Using the dropdowns on the scorecards you can edit or adjust the results.

  • If you want to select a different scorecard as the result, click the dropdown on that scorecard and click "Accept as Official Result".
  • If you want to change the win/loss result for a scorecard, click the dropdown on that scorecard and click "Edit scorecard". Navigate to Match Details and use the dropdown to select the win/loss result for each team. Now click Finish.
  • If you want to edit player stats for a scorecard, click the dropdown on that scorecard and click "Edit scorecard". Navigate to the appropriate innings and use the fields and dropdowns to update player stats. Now click Finish.

Once you have completed any of the above changes select "Update Result". All your changes will now take effect, and any stats will update over the next 30 minutes.
